How would you describe your style ?
My personal style is modern-traditional . I love a neutral palette but with pops of colour , with lots of textures and depth . I love the warmth you get from natural materials , so I always encourage the use of wood and I love using vintage pieces . Together , all of these elements I think create a timeless , cosy and classic look .
What makes you unique to other interior designers ?
Francesca Harris Design was born out of a frustration that many people feel : that interior design advice is exclusively for the rich or famous . I am determined to make interior design support available to all . Whether it ' s a full design , a quick chat or a site visit , I ' m here to help ! There are simple tips and tricks I want to share with everyone , which is why I have created downloads on my website which are super accessible . So , if you could do with a hand choosing paints , or some support pulling a room together , then these are there for you , starting at just £ 20 .
What should our readers consider when it comes to selecting an interior designer ?
It ' s really important that you feel comfortable around them . They should make you feel at ease and you should feel like they are really listening to what you are saying . An interior designer should be there to listen to your thoughts , ideas and vision , take it away and create a design specific to you – you should never feel like they are simply pushing their ideas on to you . They may ask you to step outside of your comfort zone , but if you have seen their previous work and like it , you should feel comfortable in trusting them and their judgement .
