What ' s the most common question you get asked ?
Our most common question is always how much does it cost ? These pools are an investment , but it ' s a big investment in yourself and spread over 20 years soon becomes really good value .
What are the common mistakes that you manage to avoid on your projects ?
We pride ourselves on not making mistakes , but in our time we ' ve heard of quite a few . The worst we ' ve heard of is one pool being built not at level !
Did anything go wrong ?
We built this during the COVID-19 pandemic - there were delivery issues , though we negated most of these by placing our orders really early . Our only hiccup was we couldn ' t get any 90-degree bends from our supplier and ended up driving to Brighton to purchase some from a friend ' s store .
What was your biggest surprise ?
Our biggest surprise was the price inflation at that time ; things were going up 10 % at a time . Some products went up by 25 % from the quote stage to the build .
What project are you most proud of ?
I ' m always most proud of my current project , but I love them all as we invest so much time and effort into each one . They really do take over our lives for several months .
What are your hints and tips for those looking to embark on a natural pool installation project ?
You need to ask about the technology that runs the system and also if they fully understand water limnology . Will they have a water sample taken for analysis ? How much maintenance will be needed ? Speak to their previous clients - did they feel looked after ? All of the answers to these questions will separate the professionals from the cowboys .
