Here you can enjoy fun and educational exhibits such as Journey Through the Human Brain , a quarter-mile Science Trail , a 10,000- gallon aquarium with native Floridian marine life , 18-hole educational mini golf course and much more including the latest exhibit , Dinosaur Explorer . With something for all ages , this was the perfect afternoon adventure for our five-year-old who mined for gold , experienced a hurricane wind pod and built his own water wall .

The first drive-through safari park in the USA , Lion Country Safari has been around for over 50 years . Here you can see over 900 animals from around the world both on the drive through safari , which has a helpful app tour guide , as well as on the walk-through section of the park . From being window pecked by an ostrich to hand-feeding the giraffes , Lion Country was a great-for-all-ages day out . Just remember to pack your swimsuits for the onsite splash park !

Ensure you visit the legendary Sloan ’ s ( www . sloansicecream . com / @ sloansicecream ), the ice cream shop founded in West Palm Beach in 1999 , this south Florida staple is an ice cream utopia ! The awardwinning luxury ice cream is made with the finest ingredients and can be enjoyed as part of a Sloan ’ s recommended sundae , as a scoop in a freshly baked cinnamon-laden waffle cone , or paired with one of Sloan ’ s other acclaimed treats ; fresh cookie or brownie anyone ? But of course you ’ ll need to make it past the floor-to-ceiling candy , chocolates , toffee apple moving trains and twinkling chandeliers first !
And do not , under any circumstances , leave without dining at City Cellar American Scratch Kitchen , Bar & Wine Cellar ( www . citycellarwpb . com / @ citycellar _ wpb / @ CityCellarWestPalm )! Located on the upper level of The Square , this is one of the area ’ s most beloved dining destinations and it was easy to see ( and taste !) why . Here , we were welcomed with unparalleled service , found ourselves ensconced in the contemporary dining room with floor-to-ceiling wine racking , an open bar and views to the pass , and effortlessly tempted by the American grill menu , which features a host of daily specials from chef Farrin Kolpan and utilises seasonal and local ingredients . Expect a contemporary approach to classics including dry-aged steaks , fish from the grill , hearth-baked pizzas and fresh pastas . The crispy fried calamari with roasted garlic lemon aioli was piped to starter winner by the grilled Spanish octopus thanks to the depths of flavour of the 25- year-aged balsamic , Calabrian chilli and caper dressing , although the smalls were too busy devouring the fresh focaccia to notice ! And having been swayed by dishes arriving at a neighbouring table we reluctantly declined the pizza in favour of the 8 oz fillet mignon ; a beautifully cooked steak served with potato purée and a red wine demi-glace , and a 16 oz bone-in , dry-aged ribeye , rewarded with rich , marbled flavour enhanced by a rosemary whiskey butter and delicious Pommes Anna potato .
As well as their acclaimed speciality steaks , you ’ ll find house-cured meats , cheese boards , artisanal breads , and desserts ( we can highly recommend the salted caramel and chocolate tart with chocolate whipped cream , chocolate shavings and cocoa nibs offset with flaky Maldon salt - just divine ), which are all made in-house daily in City Cellar ’ s scratch kitchen too .
