Bonne Maman jars are an ideal choice to fill with all manner of seasonal goodies . If you do have time to bake at home , these sweet treats are wonderful stored and served to family and friends , or , when prettily tied with festive ribbons and tags , make delicious homemade gifts and presents .
Ingredients :
• 60g dried black cherries
• 4 tbsp Bonne Maman Black Cherry Conserve
• 1 tbsp Cointreau or fresh orange juice
• 150g milk chocolate , roughly chopped
• 50g dark chocolate , roughly chopped
• 200g condensed milk ( this is about half a 397g can ; the remainder will freeze )
• 75g unsalted butter , diced
Method
1 . Put the dried cherries in a bowl and stir in the black cherry conserve and liqueur or orange juice . Leave to soak for at least a couple of hours or preferably overnight . Lightly grease and line a 20cm-square shallow cake tin with baking parchment .
2 . Put all the chocolate in a saucepan with the condensed milk and butter . Stir over a gentle heat until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth . Increase the heat to a simmer and simmer gently for another 2-3 mins , stirring all the time . Stir in half the soaked cherries .
3 . Carefully pour the hot mixture into the prepared tin and dot the remaining soaked cherries evenly over the top , pushing them a little way into the chocolate .
4 . Cover with cling film and pop in the freezer for 2 hours to set .
5 . Using a sharp knife , cut the truffle into bite-sized pieces and keep covered in the fridge or freezer . To give as a gift , pop each piece of truffle into a petit four case and into air-tight jars or containers . Keep them chilled .
Makes : 24 Prep Time : 30 minutes Cook Time : 15 minutes
Ingredients :
• 24 whole almonds
• 190ml pure maple syrup ( preferably golden for its delicate flavour )
• 250g almond flour
• 1 pinch of sea salt
• Cocoa powder , as needed
Method : 1 . Preheat the oven to 180 ° C ( 350 ° F ).
2 . Spread almonds on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 15 minutes . Leave to cool .
3 . In a bowl , combine maple syrup , almond flour and salt . Roll into little balls . Insert a toasted almond in each truffle and roll in cocoa powder . Refrigerate .
4 . Remove from the refrigerator 2 hours before serving .
