Located on the Goodnestone Park estate once frequented by Jane Austen , the picturesque and quintessentially English beamed cottage was recently converted into a plush rental property . Guests can rent the cottage in conjunction with the mansion or on its own . The two bedrooms , one master and one twin , can sleep up to four guests . The wood-burning stove makes it an ideal cosy winter getaway with a small group of friends , or for idyllic family Christmas escapes .
It is equipped with a modern kitchen just right for cooking up a festive feast , as well as a dining room to enjoy lots of merriment . The cottage is also pet friendly with lots of beautiful walking routes nearby and guests are welcome to bring one dog . This property has a very steep staircase and stone floors and so is not suitable for children under 5 including babies .
