The Margate Caves are being transformed into a sparkly subterranean snow-land this Christmas as the great man flies in from the North Pole and sets up his magical and merry wonderland , hidden far below the hustle and bustle of Northdown Road .

Running since 1981 , the core of this popular Santa experience remains the same – steam trains and Santa Claus ! The Santa Specials includes a return train journey from New Romney to Hythe , seasonal refreshments and the main event – a visit to Santa in his grotto ; with a quality , age-related gift for each child aged 1-15 years .
Arrive early and visit the Model Railway Exhibition at New Romney before your train journey begins , plus enjoy the Bonus Bug rides at Hythe ; Locomotive No . 4 - The Bug - traditionally only pulls Santa , this year however it will be specially pulling coaches for families to ride the length of Platform 3 at Hythe ( subject to availability ).
