GOODNESTONE PARK LAUNCHES THE ORANGERY AND A COCKTAIL OF GARDEN AND GASTRONOMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
This summer , Goodnestone Park is launching a custom-made luxury timber-framed marquee - the first Orangery to be built on the estate , uniquely situated next to Goodnestone House and overlooking the parkland . In partnership with progressive marquee specialists , LPM Bohemia , The Orangery will play the perfect host to a Goodnestone wedding , as well as corporate events and family milestone celebrations . Onsite hotspot , Old Dairy Café is launching a new wave of monthly supper clubs that boast seasonal menus and the estate boasts an impressive lineup of upcoming events , such as the coveted Fork to Fork Food & Drink Festival on 28 August - a gastronomic celebration of local goods and an open day for visitors to view The Orangery in all its glory .
CITY CENTRE ASSET MANAGERS WELCOME EXCITING NEW LETTINGS TO WHITEFRIARS
Canterbury City Council and their appointed Asset Managers , NewRiver , say they continue to be optimistic for the continued success of Canterbury city as a thriving regional retail destination following recent key lettings in Whitefriars . A relocation of the HMV store into Whitefriars Street in February paved the way for new retailer , Cotswold to open their first Canterbury store in the Marlowe Arcade . The high-quality furniture and home accessories retailer , trading over two floors , is offering customers an immersive and stimulating space to browse , giving interior design inspiration as well as a more true-to-life demonstration of its products in-situ . “ I came into the care profession almost by accident but it didn ’ t take long for me to fall for the job and the residents I worked for ,” says Harry , a 35-year-old former infantry officer with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers who will now lead the team at Birchwood Heights , a new luxury care home opening on Hilda May Avenue in the town . The purposebuilt home will provide all-inclusive residential , nursing , memory and respite care for up to 77 residents when it opens next spring . It will be the latest addition to Oakland Care ’ s portfolio . The home is currently under construction but once complete it will offer facilities including a cinema room , hair and beauty salon , a barbers , air-conditioned lounges , a dedicated consulting room for health appointments and garden areas .
BBC RADIO KENT WINS GOLD IN ARIAS BROADCASTING AWARDS
BBC Radio Kent has won one of the UK broadcasting industry ' s most prestigious awards . The Wake Up Call with Anna Cookson won gold for the best speech breakfast show at the Audio and Radio Industry Awards ( ARIAS ) at a ceremony on 3 May . It was in the same category as BBC Radio 4 ' s Today programme , Times Radio and talkSport . Radio Kent ' s executive producer Will Roffey praised the ‘ resilience and creativity ’ of everyone on the show . He said : " 2021 was a tough year for reporting local news in Kent with stories that were challenging to tell day in and day out for a breakfast audience , but the resilience and creativity of everyone working on the show was incredible ."
