Most big ideas start with tiny roots and Love Brownies began life on a kitchen table in the heart of a family home . Since then , head baker and former chef , Chantal Teal and her husband Lee have grown Love Brownies from a kitchen-table operation to a national brand , delivering multi-award-winning brownies nationwide and opening 14 shops across the UK including two in Kent ! Despite the company ’ s growth Chantal still ensures that the quality of the brownies meets her uncompromising standards , and that dedication has earned the brand over fifteen food awards in the last ten years .
As expected from the name , Love Brownies , Canterbury , based just off the high-street on Rose Lane , are big on brownies , not just coffee . Chantal and her refusal to settle for anything less than the best , means that the finest possible ingredients are used to create the famous and award-winning treats which are melt-in-the-mouth delicious . ‘ I think a gift of food is one of the few wonderful things you can always offer with pride and accept with pleasure . I love having the opportunity to make people smile . That ’ s what matters .’ said Chantal .
Sitting alongside the popular Canterbury shop , Rochester claimed the fourteenth shop spot on its opening in August . Offering a mouth watering menu of indulgent handmade chocolate brownies in a variety of tempting flavours , magnificent brownie milkshakes ( with vegan alternatives ), a range of premium , freshlybrewed coffees and Northern Bloc ice cream . A delicious ‘ Dales Kitchen ’ breakfast and lunch menu with hearty , wholesome options for adults and children are also available .

It comes as no surprise that Margate is bang on trend when it comes to coffee , boasting some of the finest , quirkiest coffee shops which bask in high quality , true ambience and ultra-cool vibes . Scissortail Coffee is no exception . Serving quality craft coffee and founded by siblings Britton and Missy Logan along with Missy ’ s partner Antony Shaw , Scissortail was born when Missy and Antony converted an empty shop space they needed to rent out . They knew that Britton was thinking about opening a coffee truck in Tulsa USA , so , in a moment of inspiration , they decided to connect the dots . A five-minute phone call to Oklahoma and the deal was done , with Britton washing up in Margate a month later .
‘ Our goal is to create a coffee shop that serves excellent espresso-based drinks with American customer service and an inclusive ethos . We want our customers to feel confident in ordering the coffee they ’ re into , whether that be a piccolo or an extra-large latte with a shot of vanilla syrup .’ Say the magnificent trio . Visitors to Scissortail will also lap up the chic , contemporary surroundings which consist of botanical green plants , industrial wooden floorboards , marble tabletops and fresh clean white walls lit up by large metal lamps and big glass windows .
