Curve Roasters , Margate www . curveroasters . co . uk
Curve Roasters was established in the summer of 2016 in Margate by Jon Cowell and Tereza Vertatova . Inspired by the beautiful landscapes in which coffee grows and the interaction of soil , climate , variety and producers ' input that make each coffee unique , Jon and Tereza say that they see the beauty of coffee roasting and brewing and thrive off the idea of ‘ taking an exciting raw product and exploring its wonderful flavour potential .’
Seasonally led , with a range of fresh crop specialitygrade coffee from various origins and with different flavour profiles , Curve Roasters ’ style allows for a coffee ' s sweetness , vibrancy , body and flavour to really shine . Rather than blending coffees , they prefer to focus on refining roasts to bring out the potential each coffee holds within and showcase individual producers ' lots .
Honouring the work of the farmers to make the experience of the baristas and consumers exciting and delicious , Curve Roasters also offers a fashionable , bright and airy space full of leafy green plants for drinkers to sit and enjoy their creations in .
The Margate Coffee Shed www . margatecoffeeshed . co . uk
The Margate Coffee Shed sits pride of place on Margate ’ s iconic seafront , right next to Margate ’ s vibrant old town . In this idyllic setting , they balance exquisite coffee , locally sourced food and a warm , glowing ambiance . Visitors can choose to sit at a communal table and strike up a friendly chat over a flat white , a cosy table for a conversation over a crafted cappuccino or the outside terrace from which they can soak up the sun and marvel at the glorious Turner skies which hug the ocean .
As big on local produce as they are on cake and baked goodies , owners Kat , Lynn and Mandy knew immediately that they wanted to use the sourdough
from Gina ’ s Old Kent Bakery in their brunches and lunches . They also sell pastries which are freshly baked , and keep the cake-making in the family with Mandy creating a lemon drizzle cake that , without fail , is always sold out by the end of the day . The local vegan market stall also provides The Margate Coffee Shed with scrumptious vegan delicacies too , so they are able to cater for all food preferences .

JavaHub Coffee , Maidstone www . javahubcoffee . com
‘ It ' s no secret that coffee can put a spring in your step , but we know it ' s so much more ’ say Maidstonebased coffee wholesalers , JavaHub , who will dispatch fresh coffee on the same day it has been roasted , directly to your door . Ensuring that their speciality coffee is freshly roasted , ethically sourced and bursting with flavour so it is ready for your cup , JavaHub believe that regular coffee wakes you up , but the ‘ best coffee delights , inspires , encourages and most importantly adds colour to whatever life throws at you ’ and we couldn ’ t agree more .
Sourced globally but roasted in Kent , JavaHub know that speciality coffee does not simply spring up out of the ground as a ready-made product . While it ' s coffee bean , as a raw ingredient as well as its geography are important to JavaHub , they focus heavily on the farmers that grow the beans and all those involved in the process of taking them from the plant to our cups . Delivering across the UK , customers can also save 30 % on their refills at the Kent Roastery , the perfect plan to achieve that ultimate cup of coffee from the comfort of your own home .
Micro Roastery , Canterbury
Another classic Canterbury favourite is Micro Roastery on St Margaret ’ s Street . With its picturesque and quirky front which suits its name down to a tee , this artisan coffee shop is deceptively bigger on the inside and stretches out to a sunny courtyard at the back in which you can enjoy a cappuccino , iced latte or whatever else your unique choice might be , on sunnier days . Founded by Nick and Erika back in 2011 , it was travelling that inspired this couple to open a coffee shop with true dedication and knowledge of coffee and how to roast it in Canterbury . Like coffee , the strength of any business comes from its origins , and this can be seen when you visit Micro Roastery in Canterbury today . The pipe system and small roaster from when the duo first started out still stand , despite moving on to bigger premises with a five-kilo roaster , just outside the city . Visitors to Canterbury will find it hard to walk past Micro Roastery without stopping by , the fresh aroma of the coffee wafting out onto the street and tempting them to follow it inside , for what will undoubtedly be a cup of extra-goodness .
