Moo Like A Monkey is Folkestone ’ s best , most colourful and alternative children ' s boutique , that is run by the equally colourful and wonderful owner , Charlotte Khan . In a previous life Charlotte had a thriving career in the film industry , but she decided to take a leap of faith to become an entrepreneur in order to spend more time with her family . Fortunately , the gamble paid off big time !
When Moo Like A Monkey opened in 2018 , it saw Charlotte running the shop while also taking care of her youngest child full time . This perseverance and hard work was rewarded when success came knocking on Moo Like A Monkey ’ s door , with Charlotte winning Kent Women in Business Awards , ‘ Mumpreneur Of The Year ’ in 2019 . In 2020 , she expanded the business to a larger space and started the company ' s online shop . Having gone from strength to strength in previous years , Charlotte topped her own record this January when she was named in the top 100 of the UK ’ s Most Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs list . Yet , through all her self-made success Charlotte hasn ’ t forgotten the reason she based her business and life in Kent , she lovingly describes Folkestone as ‘ The best place in the world .’
When asked if she had any advice to give to those who admire her business acumen and success she had this to say ; ‘ Do some serious market research , then throw yourself into creating your business . Be ready to make a ton of mistakes and learn from them , I think that ' s the only way to build a success .’
