Why were you chosen for the project ?
Wave Crest is an iconic terrace of 18 four-storey houses situated opposite West Beach in Whitstable .
Having developed many homes along the terrace , this particular property was one we had fully refurbished only five years beforehand when owned by a previous client . The new owner approached us to design and build a lower ground floor extension whilst reconfiguring the internal layout plus adding a garden studio .
A new design was granted planning permission , however this soon developed into something more exciting when the adjacent property became available to purchase . This was a rare and rather bold opportunity to investigate the possibility of knocking the two sizable terraced houses into one very large family home .
Our design and build experience , and the client having the budget , vision and enthusiasm to embark on such a monumental project , meant we were able to overcome all the challenges ( of which there were many ) to create a seamless and unique beachfront renovation .
