' Mine would be Groombridge Place Gardens . When I was a child we spent countless family days exploring the enchanted forest , catching the boat to the woodlands and flying in the high swings . Groombridge holds an extremely special place in my heart and I have some of my fondest memories of my late father with my whole family there .'

‘ My daughter plays football for 3 teams in Kent , so the majority of my free time is spent watching her play , and I love it ! She plays for Ashford United Girls and their home ground is Homelands Stadium , so this is my favourite place in Kent . The atmosphere in the stadium and the camaraderie between parents is such a euphoric experience , not to mention their chips , which are some of the best in Kent !’

‘ There are many places that make me smile but none more so than the beach . Enjoying fish and chips on the beach , with all my family , paddling in the water , playing in the sand and taking a stroll out to meet the tide is my idea of a perfect way to spend my time .’

‘ Honestly Kent is my happy place , to have made my home here really is quite special . From the seaside sunrise to sunsets across the rolling fields ; the wonderful mix of hamlets , castles and villages ; fabulous restaurants where so many memories ( and calories !) are made ; the sheer creativity , positivity and keep it local vibe ; to the wonderful hidden delights – such as the Port Lympne Mansion . Set deep within the Port Lympne reserve , the stunning 1920 ’ s building full of quirky historical charm and striking architecture , offers panoramic views of the county all the way to the sea – to the backdrop of lion roars of course ! It has been the perfect setting for family days out , special stays , delicious dinners , and not least my wonderful wedding !
I feel truly blessed to call Kent home and am delighted to share our ‘ happy place ’ each month in our fabulous homage , insideKENT !’
