THE QUIET CRAFT OF PRESSING FLOWERS Great Comp Garden, Sevenoaks
Back for another year, Music @ Malling brings a number of outstandingly talented musicians to historic venues across West Malling, with works from a range of artists covering everything from contemporary composers and classical music to jazz. The festival offers opportunities for young artists to perform, along with a number of Scratch Orchestra workshops held across September, October and November, allowing you to play music alongside professional musicians.
Great Comp Garden is holding a series of botanical art workshops for budding Kent artists. The workshops are hosted at the seven-acre garden, a haven for wildlife and home to an incredible collection of flowering perennials. The masterclass will be led by Rachael Hovey and artists can choose flowers and foliage from the garden before learning the skills of pressing and creating greeting cards from the pre-pressed botanicals. The workshop includes tea, coffee and a flower press to take home.
