BEAUTIFUL BITES IN KENT
For me, there is something timeless about sharing good food. A leisurely lunch with friends, a lively family gathering, or simply an excuse to pause and savour the moment, time spent around a table always feels special. Here in Kent, we are so lucky to have an abundance of beautiful places to choose from each offering its own flavour from the Garden of England.
What could be better on a summer afternoon or early evening than sitting outside Marc-Pierre’ s Kitchen in Ramsgate. The freshest Kent seafood in front of you, watching the sunlight glinting off the boats in the Royal Harbour, you could almost believe you had been transported to the Riviera.
At the other end of the county, the newly refurbished Lion at Luddesdown on the Silverhand Estate is eagerly awaited. Blending tradition with a fresh contemporary feel, it promises to become another destination worth seeking out, with a chance to enjoy the estate wines of course.
Canterbury is always one of my favourite places to spend time, and The Corner House is a beautiful spot. Hidden away with its charming courtyard garden, you feel miles from the city, yet you are just outside the historic city walls enjoying simple food done well, allowing local produce to truly shine.
Then there are the many wonderful locations from Elite Pubs. My local favourite is The Potting Shed- a great place to relax with friends, enjoy a wood-fired pizza and perhaps a chilled glass of Wildshark rosé while the evening slowly unfolds.
What I love most about Kent’ s food scene is its variety. One day you can be enjoying just-caught seafood by the coast, the next tucked away in a countryside pub or vineyard as the sun begins to set. Kent’ s landscape shapes its menus- the orchards, vineyards, coastline and farmland all finding their way onto our plates.

Food has a remarkable way of bringing people together, creating memories almost without us noticing. And really, what could be better than that?
