STUDENTS Student Ach Student Success at the JHJ School of Business Lateri Alexander Flaurent Fotso Recent graduates from the Jesse H. Jones School of Business Accounting program have represented themselves and the University well. Lateri Alexander, an Attorney-at-Law and Treasurer for the Graduate Student Association, passed the bar in the Spring 2014, received a $5,000 scholarship Faith Otieno from the Association for Corporate Growth and has recently accepted an offer as a patent attorney at Hewlett Packard; Flaurent Fotso graduated in 2009 and recently passed his CPA exam; and Faith Otieno completed of all four sections of the CPA exam. Theatre Student Lands Internships Junior theatre major Kaamilya William-Hinton successfully obtained two summer internships through Texas Nonprofit Theatres Multicultural Initiatives Summer 2014 Theatre Internships program. William-Hinton worked with both Hip Pocket Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas and Fredericksburg Theatre in Fredericksburg, Texas for five weeks. The students performed artistic, technical, clerical, and administrative duties. Student Leaders Take Office TSU’s 67th Student Government Association (SGA) administration assumed office June 2, after the official swearing-in ceremony in the Tiger Room of the Sterling Student Life Center. SGA Chief Justice Robert Foster conducted the installation of the new SGA president Terrance Bolton. The executive officers are: Raven Reed, comptroller; and Crystal Owens, internal vice president. Representatives of the University Program Council were also sworn in. They are: Jordan Morris, president; Porcherria Johnson, vice president; Kabria Davis, secretary; Robell Tocruray, treasurer. Miss TSU, La’Shundra Barlow; Mr. TSU, Chinonso Ezeudu; and Student Senators: Fred Carter, judicial affairs; Torre Holmes, external affairs; Jonathan Davis, chair, buildings and grounds; Erica East, internal affairs; Richard Roberts, chair, disabled and gifted; Kalysia Walton, Lanier West representative; and Amber Ware, financial affairs officer were sworn in. 18 | SPRING 2015 InsideOneTSU Magazine.indd 18 4/6/15 5:35 AM
