Award
The National Science
Foundation (NSF) announced
a CAREER award of $430,000
over five years to Texas
Southern University in support
of Dr. Miao Pan, an assistant
professor in the Department
of Computer Science (CS)
at the College of Science and
Technology (COST), for his
research proposal “CAREER:
SpecMax: Spectrum Trading
and Harvesting Designs for
Multi-Hop Communications
in Cognitive Radio Networks”
(CRNs). The award is the most
prestigious offered by NSF’s
CAREER Program and provide
up to five years of funding
to junior faculty members
who exemplify the role of
teacher-scholars through
outstanding research, excellent
education and the integration
of education and research
within the context of their
organizations’ missions.
