Sierra Club Names Environmental Justice
Award for TSU’s Dr. Robert Bullard
The Sierra Club announced a new national award that bears
the name of Dr. Robert Bullard, one of the founders of the
environmental justice movement and dean of the Barbara
Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas
Southern University.
The new award will be given annually to an individual
or a group that has done outstanding work in the area of
environmental justice. The first Robert Bullard Environmental
Justice Award was presented Nov. 21, 2014.
Public Affairs Professor Appointed to NASPAA Commission
Dr. Andrew I.E. Ewoh, professor of
Political Science/Public Administration and
editor of TSU’s Ralph Bunche Journal of
Public Affairs, was recently appointed to
the NASPAA Commission on Peer Review
and Accreditation (COPRA). COPRA is an
independent governing body that reviews
every institution that is seeking accreditation
or is up for reaccreditation by NASPAA. Dr. Ewoh also served on
the NASPAA Executive Council from 2010 to 2013.
Dean Ronald Johnson
Recognized
Dean Ronald Johnson of
the Jesse H Jones School of
Business, was selected to
receive a 2014 DiversityFIRST
award. Johnson was formally
recognized for his leadership
and excellence at the 10th
Anniversary Texas Diversity and
Leadership Conference. Former
Secretary of State Colin Powell
served as the keynote speaker.
