the
Viros gorge
F
rom sea-level, the dramatic depth of the Viros Gorge is not visibleas you cross the bridge to enter Kardamyli the only suggestion is
a dry riverbed. This does not in any way tell the full story. There are 3
places to get a real perspective: a) from the far side of the hamlet of Kalives,
located just before the road starts to bend down to Kardamyli, b) from
Tseria, reached by turning off the main road at Prosilio to get a view from
the north and c) from Hora (Exohori) to get a view from the southern side.
The best place here is from the roof terrace of the Φεραγγι Hotel. All visitors
are welcome and the turning to it is well signed.
