A busy month has been and gone for
the Stoxkarts formula, starting at the
end of July with a trip to Birmingham
(21st July) and Skegness (24th July) in
the space of 3 days. The feature
winner at Skegness being, none other
than former Ginetta Junior Champion
and current SMART Four driver Sarah
Moore, showing the men just how it
should be done. Then it was onto our
re-scheduled British Championship
which was held at Coventry Stadium
(4th August).
Another great showing with 35
Stoxkarts making it for the big event.
Thankfully, there was just a short
down-pour of rain before the meeting.
Shale master, Chris Butcher, was once
again the man to beat, taking the first 3
heats from the back of the pack.
A note to first time racer Jason Whyte You’ve obviously thrown yourself in at
the deepend because Stoxkarts are a
handful on the shale!
Despite his inexperience, Jason took a
superb 3rd and 4th in his last two
heats, showing that the formula is for
everyone.
The final race was our British
Championship and the grid was made
up from points scored on the day. The
coin flipping top scorer gained
advantage by winning 'points order' and not the reverse. The top four
battled for positions for 10 laps with the
leader, ex-Rebel Racer Andy Passey,
breaking away and taking the
chequered flag, winning the British
Championship in his first season of
Stoxkarts.
With the British out of the way, next
was Birmingham Wheels (11th
August), with another great showing of
30+ karts, some hard racing on the
very tricky oval seeing Martin Dawson
taking the final win from the Blue
Grade.
A fun weekend of racing at Stoke (18th
+ 19th August) and once again we
were blessed with superb sunny
weather all day Saturday, with just a
spot of rain to dampened the track
down nicely. Current Shale Shifter
Champion, Chris Butcher, won two

heats on Saturday, with Ex F1 Rebel
Racer and Co-Owner Paul Higgins
also taking two heats. The final went
to Paul Godfrey showing that his heat
wins at Stoke were no fluke. A few
more drivers turned up to race on
Sunday. This season’s newcomer
Russ Sumner won his first ever race
in the first heat and his brother Lee
went on to take the 3rd heat and his
first ever race win. The final was a
frantic fight with Jonathan Abbott
taking his first feature win.
heat and Elliott Horn took the feature,
both being experienced Stoxkart
racers.
So where next for the Stoxkarts?
None other than the Brisca F1 World
Final. Don’t forget to come over and
say hello to us all, we are a friendly
bunch, honest!
A trip to Skegness for our Annual
weekend started Thursday (23rd
August) with 35 karts ready to do battle
on the tight oval. First heat went to the
new British Champion Andy Passey,
Chris Butcher taking a heat win and
the final going to Carl Heighes. A
spectacular show from Matt Dixey
gave him his first win after taking up
the formula at the start of the season.
Damaged cars had a couple of days to
repair so it was all hands to the pumps
with everyone helping each other out once again showing why everyone
loves the sport so much.
A massive Bank Holiday crowd
watched on as 40 drivers were ready
for the Sunday events. Stoxkarts
stole the show with Chris Butcher
taking the first two heats, showing his
versatility. Carl Heighes took the final
