MODSTOX WORLD CHAMPION Preston born Scott Bodilly became the youngest MODSTOX Gold Top Championship Winner when he took the crown at Northampton last month. Only in his second season, this twenty year-old has managed to hold off some of the big names and seasoned veterans to take the title and Gold Roof. Scott started racing Ministox at Warton Raceway, Lancashire, in his pre-teen years aged 12 and after just four years learning his craft, moved onto racing national Modstox. These smaller versions of the well-known F2 Stockcars are sometimes used as a feeder 32 class. With smaller power units and lighter weight limits it allows drivers to race without having to break the bank. These cars can be picked up for less than you’d pay for a decent laptop and won’t be ready for the scrap yard for many a year to come. Scott is now looking towards next season as he and his father are building a new car to race around the country and hopefully defend his Gold Roof. It goes without saying that Scott would not be where he is without the help of a few people so here goes the name check; Optimum Signs, Allthread Tools & Fasteners, Clock Garage, Northern Bangers, R.B. Industries, T.J. Motorsport, and the bank of Mum & Dad. Scott says there’s someone special he must thank for their support, who could that be you might ask? - Yes Kirstie it’s you! If you fancy racing in this class, why not contact www.modstox.co.uk or have a chat with Scott as his car is now up for sale. You’ll have to bring a little more than the price of a PC though - after all it’s a Championship winning car now. Jack Lord Jnr. Photo by: Danny Potts Tel: 0844 840 8104
