We are all in a much better place than when we started in creating a better understanding of the challenges.
Aside from ridiculous comments from ridiculous people that I will not even dignify with a mention in this column, there is a general acceptance that we now have to check the many advances made in modern societies to provide a better balance. A better balance between work and home, between health and progress, between consumerism and the environment.
In every field we are making progress. In every field we at OTWO are proud of our initiatives to create the necessary platforms and ideas to catalyse the improvements we need to make. We also now have a much better and clearer idea on how we can improve the way in which we have pursued our aims.
Disinformation is a massive problem in an era where time is of the essence, where everything must be ready by yesterday. In this era where communications have never been so easy, the dangers of disinformation are amplified. It is indeed a privilege to live in an era where the few no longer control what the majority can read or inform themselves on. We are all perfectly capable of communicating now at a scale unheard of in the past. A true privilege to be living in this era of our development as human beings.
There is now however more responsibility on each of our shoulders to make sure that the information we publicise is correct. That we do not misguide people or their leaders into making mistakes or have wrong assumptions dictate personal views. At OTWO we bear this responsibility with honour and pride. That is why we insist that our columnists acknowledge every single statement with source accreditation.
Going to a seasonal routine with our cherished paper edition challenged this responsibility. We have therefore decided to launch this Monthly Inside OTWO as an online publication. Our format will develop properly over the next two or three months with evolutions already planned with our stakeholders and your comments to ensure that we bring to our readership true unbiased and accurate articles and information items keeping you up to date monthly with developments in the industries that affect all of us and on the initiatives that are taken here and elsewhere to help us all achieve our aims.
Our team is also working on other initiatives to ensure we can all take our personal and collective decisions based on fact and not the fictions those unmentionables and others seem to thrive spreading.
We know we are working well; we know we are progressing. We pledge to continue doing this in the interests of all more importantly for our future generations. Please do not hesitate to engage with us with your ideas and comments. Together we can make this happen.
