May 22 – Fort Mackinac opens for 2020 season. Admission
required.
May 25 – Residents Appreciation Weekend 50¢ adults, 25¢ child,
all sites, residents of Emmet, Cheboygan, and Mackinac Counties.
May 26 – Movies in the Fort. Every Tues. until Sept 1st. Family ori-
ented films on parade grounds. Bring a blanket or chairs. Free
May 27 & July 5 – War of 1812 Battlefield Bike Ride, 2:00 p.m.

MUSEUM LISTING
MACKINAC STATE HISTORIC PARKS
Six “living history” museums offer spirited reenactments,
authentic buildings, and colorful characters of old. Fort
Mackinac and Historic Mackinac downtown buildings: the
Biddle House, Benjamin Blacksmith Shop, American Fur
Company Store/Dr. Beaumont Museum, McGulpin House,

GRAND HOTEL HORSE CARRIAGE MUSEUM
Located next to Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory,
this working facility is home to Grand Hotel’s 12 horses and is
open to the public. It’s a great way to see the horses up close,
along with 20 antique carriages from both Grand Hotel and
Mackinac Island Carriage Tours. Free admission.
IMAGES OF FAITH MUSEUM
Located at Ste. Anne Church. The displays highlight the
religious history of Mackinac. Records date back to 1695 and
show the settlement of the Island through its immigrant
population. Free of charge & open to the public. 906-847-3507
MACKINAC ARTS COUNCIL GALLERY
Located adjacent to the Theater at Mission Point Resort, this
free gallery features various themes and artists’ works on dis-
play. Open Monday through Saturday 9:00-5:00pm, Sunday
noon to 5:00pm.
THE HORSE IN HISTORY MUSEUM
Exciting compilation of photographs at the entrance of the
Mackinac Community Equestrian Center showing Mackinac’s
unique horse culture. Bring to life the daily interaction
between the horse and their humans. See the free exhibit and
learn more about the history of horses on Mackinac! Located
on British Landing Road. 906-847-8034
THE MANOOGIAN MACKINAC ART MUSEUM
Three level art museum showcases historic treasures from
Mackinac State Historic Parks. For free admission, just show

STUART HOUSE MUSEUM
Original 1817 headquarters of John Jacob Astor’s Fur Trading
Company. Admission by donation. Groups welcome! Open

The first stop on the Carriage Tour route features century old
