The main house was built in the 1940’s by a prominent horse breeder from Ocala, Florida as his summer “dream home”. Sparing no expense, the house was built completely of Florida cypress inside and out, with a living room that features a pecky cypress cathedral ceiling, quarter-sawn rift pine floors, a brass chandelier and wall sconces from a dismantled ship in the New York harbor, as well as, porches and an outdoor fireplace made of native stone. It’s perfect for meetings, small weddings or family reunions. It sits facing the waterfront and offers amazing views overlooking the lake.
David and Lorriane Owen, the owners of the “The Nest”- say this is “Our Dream”. With their own style they have restored, improved, loved and landscaped the entire property. They feel those who have loved this lakefront property before us would approve, as it’s once again reborn so others like you can share in God’s creation and would agree when we say, “Weirblessed.”
I’m so glad I came to this awesome place and I know you would enjoy it too! It’s also one of the Florida Bed and Breakfast Inns. www.Florida-Inns.com
