Secluded in the North Woods mixed forest of Northern Michigan is where you will discover Horton Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast. This hidden treasure is located on 60 acres of woodland, lakes and rivers in an area commonly referred to as “Up North.” You will succumb to the alluring canopy of hardwoods and stately pines sprawled amid hilly, rural fields, leaving the busy-ness of the everyday behind.

Hosts David and Jeannie Babbitt built their Town and Country Log home 25 years ago, taking a decade to fashion it into the B&B they envisioned. Fifteen years later they are still dedicated to doing what they love. Jeannie, with a passion for cooking and baking, and David who enjoys gardening - take pleasure in being around people. “Providing a place for people to get away gives us the opportunity to take care of others,” she says.

Quite often, guests upon arrival, walk along the manicured gardens, and become immersed in the tranquility of the landscape. “We call it the Horton Creek quiet,” says Jeannie. “It overtakes them.”

A family friendly inn, it is the perfect setting for individuals, families, or couples in search of a romantic excursion. David and Jeannie know a thing or two about romance, considering weddings are their specialty. Whatever your intention may be, they are attentive, but not intrusive, with respect for your privacy, to ensure a peaceful retreat.

Seven wilderness-themed rooms are designed with your comfort in mind. Some features include handmade queen beds and furnishings, private baths, large windows with spectacular views, and an in-ground heated pool. Spacious sitting areas beckon you to relax. Start your day with a hearty breakfast expertly prepared by David. Jeannie creates all the desserts herself. Rumour has it her chocolate ganache cake is a decadent masterpiece.

Their genuine hospitality will leave you longing to return. Such was the case for their first guests of 15 years ago. “Our very first couple returned last year,” says Jeannie. “It was special. Since then, they have sent family members and friends to us,” she says. It sounds like at Horton Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast, they are doing something right.
