CONCRETE BREAKING
When working with concrete on the jobsite , accidents can occur when operators lose focus . It is important to stay vigilant and keep safety top of mind while breaking concrete .
• Inspect the tool before operation to ensure it is in good working condition and not damaged . If damaged or not functioning properly , discontinue use until it is fixed
• Ensure everyone wears appropriate personal protection such as eye protection , a hard hat , hearing protection , dust protection , safety shoes and gloves
• Stay alert , watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool
DECKING
While decking has traditionally been done with fastening tools , new stand up decking power tools allow for work to be done with greater comfort and convenience .
• Mark the deck before firing — this helps ensure that the under beam is hit , thereby reducing the chance of fragments , blow throughs , and / or damage to the tool
• Keep the grips dry , clean and free of oil and grease
• Wear suitable eye protection , a hard hat , ear protection and protective gloves while the tool is in use and ensure others in the vicinity do the same we want to hear from you
