Programming Classes
All students in the 21st century need to have the
opportunity to learn coding starting in elementary
school. It is exciting for kids and introduces them to
thinking skills that are critical for the digital age.
Learning to write programs stretches
your mind, and helps you think better,
creates a way of thinking about things in
an innovative way. As we think about
preparing our children for college and
careers in a hyper-connected, technology
driven world there is no question that coding is more important than ever before, that’s why
more students in K-12 should be exposed to programing language.
The Programming course was initiated and conducted by Dr.Frithi Herbert with guidance and
support of our School Principal Mr.Jason Jonathan King. The students learn to do coding’s use
the programming languages and are able to do projects like Employment Payroll, Student Details
and Hotel Menu programming for the company as a project.
This course was led by nearly 56 students as an after school activity on Wednesday and Thursday
as two batches from year groups 8 to 12.
Students’s Experience
Participating in this course helped me experience the essence
of what programming is about. I was unsure of myself at first,
but I eventually became used to making payrolls and dinner
planners. Visual Basic is a great programming language to start
with as it gives to a proper foundation for you to learn harder
languages such as Java, Python etc. I would recommend this
course to all who want an idea of what programming is. Good
luck!
