CATIA Course
Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application
New opportunities bind innovation
at Cambridge which has led to 22
students from Years 11 and 12
carrying out the CATIA course for 6
months in our school as an after
school activities on Thursday
(September 2015 to March 2016).
They had covered Sketcher Design,
Part and Component Design, 3D -
Assembly
design and modelling,
drafting 2D and 3D industrial drawing components. CATIA is the leading software solution used
to develop a broad range of products across the world. It is used to design, simulate, analyze, and
manufacture products in a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer goods,
and industrial machinery.
The CATIA course was initiated by
Dr.Frithi Herbert with guidance and
support of our School Principal
Mr.Jason Jonathan King. The CATIA
course was conducted by Mr.Frinson
and he guided the students to do the
component drawing as a project for the
company using the CATIA software for
– Osborne Aluminium & Glass Abu
Dhabi.
The students were given challenging
component drawings and they exhibited
their
CATIA Drawings (Print outs and Soft
copies) to Mr.Ali Hamzeh the General
Manager of the company; he was impressed
to see the work done by our students. The
students who were involved in the project
have received an internship letter from
the company for doing the component
drawings. This will be very useful for the
students who take the engineering stream
at university.
