Internship Program at Star Corporation – Leopold’s
“To choose a future profession sometimes can be challenging for the young generation, as they have many
choices nowadays.
Star Corporation, representing 6 restaurants in Abu
Dhabi, including Leopold’s of London, Smoking Doll and
Wild Fire, developed a special internship program for
the Cambridge School students. During these winter
holidays, Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi and Star
Corporation (restaurant management company) came
up with the innovative project to give a chance to their
students to try their skills and to venture into the world
of hospitality from [18-12-2016 till 29-12-2016].
It gave practical opportunity to each of the participants
to be involved in restaurant’s daily operations. Some of them got a chance to work with the best chefs in
town, learning not only about different kind of pastries and restaurants signature dishes, but also about
making traditional sushi. Others tried their abilities in regular operations like serving the guests, learning
about the offers, how to make tea or coffee, etc. Those who were interested in business development
and management, worked in human resources and marketing department, accounts section and call center
as well.
The program was developed to clarify and open the gates of hospitality world, to young people. Star
Corporation took the opportunity to represent the service
industry at its best, hopefully to its future employees. In the end,
all the participants happily graduated from the program with a
positive feedback not only about the industry but also with the
awareness about the people – their passion and hard work.
