SEDEFED developed its organizational structure by establishing various committees in line with the perspective of being “… an effective non-governmental organization ” as featured in its vision . These committees have determined the framework of the activities of the federation since its establishment . Creating a platform for SEDEFED member associations to share their best practices and explaining the benefits of federating to sectoral associations have also been important steps taken in this direction .
The vision ’ s stated intent of “... increasing the sustainable competitiveness of our real sector ...” further prompts the federation members to cooperate and take initiatives on the subject .
Within this context , in order to draw attention to the issue of competition in all relevant segments of society , Turkey ’ s first “ Competition Congress ” was held in 2005 , within the framework of the strategic cooperation developed with TÜSİAD-Sabancı University Competition Forum-REF . The “ Competition Congress ” which guides the competition policies of our country , has been held every year in November for fourteen years with wide participation .
SEDEFED is aware that competitiveness cannot be increased only with micro solutions on a company basis , and it has also taken various initiatives in accordance with the parliament , administrations , and political parties , considering the impact of national policies on this issue .
The expression “... development of international strategic cooperation , especially with the EU ...” which takes place in the vision has formed the basis of the activities prioritized by SEDEFED . The most important of these activities was the mapping of the “ Regulatory Impact Analysis in Sectors .” The technical infrastructure of the map , which was prepared for the four leading sectors of the economy in the first place , was prepared with the technical support of Eurohorizons . The results of the study conducted for the automotive , iron and steel , chemistry and international transportation sectors were shared with the public at the beginning of 2007 .
