Overcoming the inner doubts-a step
ahead
e movie goes on to describe the
conflicting voices inside Aron's head in
a subtle manner. He experiences
hallucinations involving his family, his
past relationships and the women
hikers he had met recently. ese
dreams have a brilliant way of
portraying that under the influence of
an agonizing pain, thirst and hunger,
Ralston's thoughts grow muddled up
and hi s desp eration to get out
gradually gives way to despair. But
somewhere in the deepest core of his
heart, he still has some hope left as a
consequence of which, he seems to get
a vision of his future son, that kindles a
spark in him and he begins working his
way towards freedom. Overcoming
one's inner demons can be the biggest
challenge and Ralston by doing so,
demonstrates that how achieving such
a feat can push one towards one's goal.
Doubting ourselves can sometimes be
the sole hindrance in the path to glory.
