Ingomar Church STAFF Spotlight 2014 Memorial Walk Over 180 people joined us on Saturday May 10, for our 8th Annual Memorial Walk in North Park. This year’s t-shirt honored the names of 111 loved ones. Thanks to all who participated! Robin Macon Director, Ingomar Child Enrichment Center Robin moved to the area in 2005, and joined Ingomar Church in 2006. “My background is in teaching so I volunteered to teach Sunday school,” said Robin. “In addition to my teaching background, I had directed a program at a university in Mississippi.” Although she had related experience, applying for the director’s position at Ingomar Child Enrichment Center was not something she thought would happen. “But in the fall of 2007, Jami (Pietrzyk) and Tracy (Cox) came to me separately and asked me to apply ... and kept asking me. At the time I was teaching at another preschool, and my plan was to return to public school to teach. It was the trusting of the Holy Spirit [that led me to apply for this job] ... I said, God if this is what you want for me, I will do it.” Robin accepted the position of Director, Ingomar Child Enrichment Center in January 2008. “I love that it is a Christian preschool,” she added. Robin has led numerous small groups here at Ingomar Church, and each time has extended personal invitations to friends to join her groups. This past semester she co-led a small group for women with Andrea Czartoryski, studying “Breaking Free” by Beth Moore. “I invited one friend who previously had given me every excuse in the book why she couldn’t come ... she not only came to this group, but she experienced such a transformation that she accepted Christ in the midst of the study,” said Robin. “It was such a powerful experience. One of the most rewarding things about small groups is the relationships that are formed.” 13
