Extravagant Generosity July Mission Focus: Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International. We have been putting faith into action in our community since 1992 by partnering with hard-working families and volunteers to build homes for 51 families in Beaver County - so far! We have also added $85,000 to our county’s yearly tax revenue by rehabbing blighted houses or building on vacant lots. It is often assumed that we receive funding from Habitat for Humanity International. However, we rely on public donations from individuals, churches and corporations. All undesignated donations are tithed (10%) to Habitat for Humanity International to further carry out our mission of eliminating poverty housing worldwide. Through our tithes to Habitat for Humanity International, we have built over 65 homes outside of the United States. Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County works with hard-working people in need, and then sells the houses to the homeowner, or Partner Family. Candidates are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay a no-profit mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat. Their mortgage payments contribute to a Fund for Humanity, which in turn provides the money to build more houses.
