Extravagant Generosity (continued from page 1) The next step was a shopping trip that allowed the children to choose the gifts for the kids at Bethany House. “It was wonderful to see the thought they put into it as they shopped,” said Erin Quinlan. “They carefully thought about what the Bethany House kids would like.” Not only did the children raise the money and choose the gifts, but they also wanted to deliver them personally. So Cheryl Heisey and Jan Brooks made arrangements for a visit. On July 3, the children and their parents made a trip to Bethany House. “Our visit to deliver the gifts was a blast. The children and their counselors at Bethany House were so very appreciative! The “lemonade kids” and their parents had a great time playing with the Bethany House children for an hour or so,” said Cheryl Heisey. “I don’t think the children feel like what they did was special … they were just happy to share, and just happy to be kids playing with other kids,” said Erin Quinlan. The Quinlans and Bellisarios joined Ingomar Church about nine years ago and their children attended Ingomar Child Enrichment Center. As is true for many, the preschool served as a catalyst for connections with other families at Ingomar Church. Erin Quinlan is passionate about the important role the preschool played in the lives of her children, teaching fundamentals such as the importance of sharing with others. “I think the whole thing (the lemonade stand project) was an excellent example of how a person, or a small group of people can really make a difference in the lives of others. Through their own initiative and caring hearts, they provided a wonderful example of how to serve others in their community!” said Cheryl Heisey. Bethany House is one of the local mission outreach programs supported by Ingomar Church. Bethany House mentors and feeds underprivileged children in Northview Heights.
