d ) Typical Modular Fabrication Work Process The typical modular fabrication work process commences with steel cutting , sub-component assembly , block stage outfitting , pre-outfitting , block painting , turnover and pre-erection and module outfitting ( deck stage and module stage ). Lastly the modules are ready for lifting ( see Figure 1 ).
1 . Topside structure component and block yard allocation . Raw materials such as plate , SAW and SMLS pipes are distributed to each of the component subcontractors for fabrication work . Each component is fabricated in accordance with the dedicated block number , and the completed subcomponents and components are delivered to the block fabrication phase for the next activity e . g . for components such as welded
