Industry 5.0 focuses on three pillars , namely : ( 1 ) Human-centric Approach ; ( 2 ) Sustainable ; and ( 3 ) Resilience . Industry 5.0 will be focused on the collaboration between humans and machines , as human intelligence works in harmony with cognitive artificial intelligence . Workers will be upskilled to provide value-added tasks in production and manufacturing by putting the human back into industrial production with collaborative machines and robots . Industry 5.0 will focus on personalisation and customisation to meet customer needs and expectations while adopting a sustainable and resilient approach .
The Malaysian Government launched the National Fourth Industrial Revolution ( 4IR ) Policy on July 1 , 2021 with the aim to increase the country ’ s readiness in harnessing the potential of Industry 4.0 . For the construction industry , Construction Industry Development Board ( CIDB ) has launched the Construction 4.0 Strategic Plan ( 2021-2025 ) as the roadmap for the Malaysian construction industry to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution . The plan aims to transform the construction industry through the adoption of 12 emerging technologies to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the industry .
As the implementation of 4IR takes place , it is paramount that Industry 5.0 is complementing Industry 4.0 in embracing emerging technology and productivity-enhancing innovations to improve decision-making and work procedures . Therefore , in the adoption of digital transformation , the focus of Industry 5.0 in emphasising the inclusion of human factors back into the production system , where the workers will be upskilled to work in collaboration with machines and robots to
