to cost and unfamiliarity with these tools . Most ECPs look at design software as their main design tool . We have not included design software in our survey as we deem design software as part of the ECPs working tools .
Government should provide some financial assistance if it wants to encourage use of BIM . In addition , training to be made available especially for those outside the Klang Valley .

Key takeaways from the group discussion and validation workshop :
● Drones and video cams on site are only used if they are provided by the Client or if insisted on by the Client ’ s requirements . Drones and video cams presently cannot replace the physical site inspections to examine and sign off on contractor ’ s works .
● Drones and video cams are mainly used for general monitoring of the site and progress photos . Site inspection systems are mostly manually carried out . Most ECPs are unaware of any software or app that can be used .
Drone for Construction Supervision 69 % of the respondents have not used drones for construction supervision . The adoption is similar to the use of drones for design .
Real Time Video Camera 74 % of the respondents have not used real time video cams to help in construction supervision .
Digital Site Inspection System 73 % of the respondents do not use digital system to manage site inspection .
BIM
Key takeaways from the group discussion and the validation workshop :
● Most ECPs have taken up BIM more on the basis of compliance to Client ’ s requirements . JKR presently insists on BIM for projects above RM50 million . Most ECPs feel that the use of BIM for a project is additional work and additional cost should be paid for this work . BEM to look into the SOF to include this as additional cost . The cost for both hardware and software for BIM is high . It is suggested that
