STATUS OF DIGITALISATION
The efforts towards digitalisation undertaken by an ECP were divided into several areas . Each of the digitalisation areas were further divided as follows :

b . Project Delivery and Control Digital PE endorsement Digital encrypted signature Digital document management system
c . Project Management ( use of project management software ) Primavera Microsoft Projects Free software
d . Digital Design Tools and Instruments Drone 3D Scanning Photogrammetry Computational Fluid Dynamics
e . Construction Supervision Drone Real Time Video Camera Digital Site Inspection System
f . Building Information Modelling ( BIM )
It was decided to treat BIM as a separate section based on the emphasis worldwide on the adoption of BIM . The data from the survey results are shown in the charts included . For the purposes of validation , the team also compiled the data based on regions , which are also included . From the validation workshop , the working group members viewed that data based on the regions and the group discussions held also validate the overall data provided by the baseline survey .
Management of ECP
Key takeaways from the group discussion and the validation workshop :
● Ideally , time sheet , financial and HR management should be integrated to provide management an insight to the operation of the firm . Presently many firms do time sheet management either manually or using excel spreadsheets . Many firms would be interested in suitable software that can be used for this . Financial management is generally based on finance software used for accounting purposes ( not so much for actual management of the ECP ). Most ECPs do not see the need for HR management , especially when their staff count is low .
Time Sheet Management 60 % of respondents do not use time sheet management as compared to 20 % who have been using some form of time sheet management system for more than five years .
Financial Management 49 % of respondents do not use financial management as compared to 30 % who have been using some form of time financial management system for more than five years .
HR Management 72 % of respondents do not use HR management as compared to only 12 % who have been using some form of time HR management system for more than five years .
Digital PE Endorsement 45 % of respondents do not utilise digital PE endorsement as compared to 15 % who have adopted it for more than five years . There is a big jump in adoption over the last two-three years , mainly attributed to the pandemic .
Digital Encrypted Signature 56 % of respondents do not utilise digitally encrypted signatures whilst only 10 % have used it for more than five years . Again , it is noticed that the use of digital signatures have been increasing over the past two-three years due to the pandemic .
Document Management System 41 % of respondents do not utilise digital document management system as compared to 26 % who have been using for more than five years .
