Girl Develop It was founded by Vanessa Hurst and Sara Chipps in New York City in 2010. Today, Girl Develop It has a presence in 60 cities around the world. These chapters are building strong relationships within their communities, representing 55,000+ members nationwide who are changing their lives through learning to code. The organization began with just one class, which sold out within 24 hours. Girl Develop it helps more than 1000 students per month to create new skills with coding and development work.
