MARIO GUZMAN has been working for Commercial Kitchen
for six years, transitioning successfully from a business which
performed research and development for the automotive
industry. Previously a salesman, Mario finds himself as less of
a salesman and more of a fanatical advocate for Commercial
Kitchen’s customers. This role is something of a jack-of-
all-trades, one which combines salesmanship with project
management and provides unique opportunities for Mario to
not only help Commercial Kitchen but also provide hands on
assistance to customers.
The day-to-day work that Mario does for Commercial Kitchen
actually begins each week with extensive planning. First, the
entire week will be planned out. Next, Mario will meet with the
Branch Manager and Service Supervisor in order to review jobs,
summations, and bids that are outstanding so that everyone
will remain in the loop and can plan for future business. This
planning lays the groundwork for the branch by assigning
technicians to specific installation and maintenance jobs as
well as ensuring that they are the best fit for that customer.
Mario’s primary focus is being an Advocate for the Customer.
An advocate is someone who puts the customer first, thinks of
what the customer needs rather than what Commercial Kitchen
thinks the customer needs, and provides “Fanatical Service”,
which is going beyond what would be considered “normal
service”. Once information is gathered from the customer,
Mario helps with the logistics and acts as a bridging advocate
between the client and Commercial Kitchen.
Mario is always thrilled to see new businesses in and around
McAllen. If there are plans for a new restaurant, Mario will

go out and introduce himself. While he is there, he will let the
prospective customers know what services the company
can provide and draw up estimates/bids. He will meet with
contractors and the client in order to determine what materials
need to go where and when they need to arrive. Mario will
work out timeframes that will work for all parties involved. As
most will see, Mario is involved with customer from the very
beginning and stays with them until the very end.
While the main focus of most companies is sales, at
Commercial Kitchen, the main focus is the Customer. Without
focusing on the customer, there is no way Commercial Kitchen
can sustain its status as an industry leader. Mario is an example
of the Advocates that Commercial Kitchen provides for its
customers. There is also at least one Outside Sales/Fanatical
Advocate in each of the major cities where Commercial Kitchen
does business. Explaining what Commercial Kitchen can do
for your business is often done by an Advocate like Mario.
Commercial Kitchen offers more than simply installation and
maintenance services. Other services include PM agreements,
beer system installs, parts sales, shop work, and warranty work.
