This is purely from the Cape Town perspective and I have not even touched on what goes down in Durban or Johannesburg! Of course each Province will argue that they are the best but quite frankly I have no way of knowing this as I have not dived into those worlds as of yet.

I know this for a fact, South Africa as a whole is making a name for itself and will be throwing poetic punches with the best of the best all around the world in no time.

With our different mother tongues comes the chance to grab a wider audience. English holds only about 40% of the languages used, African languages such as Xhosa, Sesotho and isiZulu are a powerful force; Afrikaans has a strong foothold in the race as well. We even have a performer who spits everything in a Jamaican accent, the Fire Generator ‘TaberNacle’.
