Do you plan your books, has the story or a character ever changed?

I do not plan my books (per se) but pick them up from the trash pile. (that sounds terrible, no? HA) As I'm writing and editing, sometimes there will be scenes that just don't fit what I'm trying to accomplish in the story so I'll cut them out and drop them into a "trash file" rather than going to permanent delete. The trash pile from Book 1 of Whispering Pines became Book 2 and 3 (I think that is correct). The trash file from 2 and 3 became book 4.. and right on down the line to book 9. (Yes.. book 10 is in progress and guess where I got some of that story?) The characters in my books do not change so much as progress or mature in some areas but nothing dramatic. I keep Whispering Pines written so that readers can read book 1 (which is free by the way) and then take their pick of the remaining 8. I write them as such so one does NOT have to read them in order. Take your pick and go.

Who is your favourite author?

I have many favorites based on their writing style and respect for the readers, more than their genre. Stephen King is the master of grabbing a reader's attention whether you like his horror genre or not. Tom Clancy is another favorite. For those who remember this southern master of journalism, then Lewis Grizzard will ring a bell for you. Once a few years back I was introduced as a cross between Andy Rooney (CBS fame) and Lewis Grizzard. I have always considered that to be the ultimate compliment.
