Do you plan your books, has the story or a character ever changed?

I do plan them out first, yes. I think it’s important to know where a book is going before you start to write it, so you don’t end up having to edit out a load of superfluous stuff that isn’t relevant to the plot!

I do get new ideas throughout, though, constantly – and when I was writing my latest novella, Round and Round (published late July 2014), I did actually re-write the last three chapters so that the end was entirely different. I think structure is very important in novels, though, which is why I would never start one without planning.
