Do you have a set routine for writing or do you start a project and find that you can’t stop until it is finished?
Well, bearing in mind that most of my projects are full length novels, I’d be a bit hungry and tired (and dirty) if I didn’t take a break now and then, ha ha! I don’t have a rigid routine but I write most days and stop when I am too tired to give it my best, or when necessity demands.
I read that successful ‘indie’ author Russell Blake writes 12-14K words a day. I couldn’t do that – a good day for me is about 3K. I daresay Mr Blake doesn’t have to do stuff like the shopping and the ironing, too!
Have you a favourite protagonist that you have created?
Not just one, no. If I had to choose one, though, it would be Dave Bentley from Dream On and Full Circle – a lovely wannabe rock star with his head in the clouds and his heart in the right place!!
