Goal 4 The Park Creates Healthy Communities and Inspires Healthy Nearby Nature Outcome 1 : The Environmental Benefits of Urban Nature Extend to BVHP neighbors and neighborhoods Expand current RPD environmental education programs that encourage stewardship of the Park including the Greenagers , Youth Stewardship , SF Children and Nature and the Heron ’ s Head Park EcoCenter Advocate for and support tree planting along public streets and rights of way in India Basin Provide material resources and staff support to existing local groups to organize neighborhood cleanups , donating mulch and soil , providing compost , and supporting neighborhood greening initiatives Support the creation of new community gardens and strengthen relationships with existing community gardens in BVHP Outcome 2 : Use the Physical Spaces and Park Programming to Build Community Cohesion and Social Capital Building on the success of the Tech Hub , provide free wi-fi at the park , expand digital learning and services , and offer digital engagement opportunities Create a community calendar and bulletin board for the Park that is shared onsite and online Support farmers markets and food-based events within the Park Outcome 3 : Increase Programming that Strengthens Physical and Mental Health Through RPD ’ s Requity initiative and in partnership with City agencies , non-profit organizations and local businesses provide responsive , active recreational programs , fitness activities and waterfront activities Provide wellness-related programming including meditation , mindfulness workshops , walking groups , stress reduction , dealing with trauma Collaborate with City agencies and non-profit organizations to support mental health services for at-risk community members within the neighborhood
