The future India Basin Waterfront Park ( referred to in this document as the “ Park ” or “ India Basin ” or “ Project ”) will be a place of promise , a shoreline park with the ecological significance of Crissy Field , cultural and historical roots rivaling Chinatown ’ s Portsmouth Square or North Beach ’ s Washington Square Park , and recreational opportunities as abundant as those offered by Golden Gate Park . With engaging and diverse programming , India Basin is poised to become the heartbeat of the Bayview-Hunters Point ( BVHP ) community .
