Kesha- Praying:

Just like a phoenix rises from its ashes, Kesha has come out stronger than ever from her past through this song. The steady vocals, giving way to the high pitched notes represent her gradual personal growth. The spirituality and rawness of the song’s message message definitely made me call it purposeful and powerful pop!

Lana Del Rey ft. A$AP Rocky:

Groupie Love: This song reinforces Lana’s reverberating voice with a taste of hip hop. Despite both artists being connoisseurs of different genres, their voices sync together perfectly. The layered vocals, a signature style, coupled with A$AP Rocky’s rap verse is music to the ears (literally). Needless to say, I am in “Love” with this song.

2 Chainz ft. Travis Scott- 4AM:

This song has a really mellow and chill vibe to it. 4AM is the best song on the album, according to me. It has 2 Chainz dropping sick verses and Travis Scott really does justice to the chorus.

This (t)rap is the real deal!

Jay Z- 4:44:

The title track of Jay Z’s album was heavily scrutinized because it confirms the rumors of him cheating on Queen Bey. The heavy percussion and loud sound of horns just scream that this was the darkest and most personal song on the album. Some light vocals and meaningful rap should be a definite addition to your playlist.
