Since breaking through, Shekhinah has carved her own lane in R & B. Now, with her latest single, Say You Love Me, she’ s in a more playful and experimental mode. Inbound SA caught up with her to talk about this new chapter in her career.
WHAT CAN YOUR FANS EXPECT BOTH SONICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY?
This release is fun and experimental. It gave me a chance to take a break from my usual pop and R & B sound and play with house music. However, it still comes from the same place. The lyrical content and intention are still fuelled by love and melody.
WHAT DOES THIS SEASON OF YOUR LIFE FEEL LIKE, PERSONALLY AND CREATIVELY?
It feels free and experimental. I think I already have three solid, beautiful pop R & B projects out there, so this has been a fun detour for me creatively.
