COVER FEATURE
LIFE BEYOND THE VIRAL Away from the camera, Luzanne is a single mother raising two boys, and weekends are a whirlwind of sports matches, schoolwork, and trying to be everywhere at once.
“ My boys and their sport!” Luzanne laughs. Like many South African parents, she spends Saturdays sprinting between sporting fields while also worrying about homework.
“ When we’ re not on a sports field, you’ ll find us fishing, riding bikes, playing golf, or, my personal favourite, me trying to force them to study over and over again.”
Despite the chaos, she wouldn’ t change a single thing. When asked what else she has transformed besides her wardrobe, her answer comes without hesitation.
“ Myself.”
She speaks openly about choosing herself, reclaiming her power, and rediscovering her self-worth.
“ I found my way back to myself. I chose me, took back my power, and in doing so, I discovered my true worth and the strength that had been there all along.”
THE ULTIMATE BLAZER CHALLENGE If Luzanne could challenge any South African celebrity to a blazer showdown, her choice is fashion icon Renee de Wit.
For years, the makeup artist has been one of Luzanne’ s style inspirations, so meeting her recently felt surreal. But Luzanne’ s admiration goes beyond style.“ She’ s humble, empowered, and authentic,” she says.
Even fashion lovers can be surprised. Luzanne admits she has fallen in love with a trend she never really expected to embrace: gym wear paired with an oversized blazer.
“ It’ s smart, it’ s a little sexy, and it has that unmistakable energy of,‘ Here I am, Mamas!’”
Honestly, it sounds like peak South African mum fashion.
Perhaps the most emotional answer comes when Luzanne is asked whose life she would swap with for a day.
Not a celebrity. Not a billionaire. Instead, she’ d choose a Grade 8 girl struggling with bullying, selfdoubt, and the feeling that she doesn’ t belong.
“ Someone who is being bullied, who feels overweight, not from a privileged background, not particularly academic, not sporty, and full of self-doubt. A girl who doesn’ t feel good enough. A girl very much like I was,” she says.
Despite the growing fame, Luzanne remains refreshingly down to earth. Every morning begins with two cups of coffee. Not one. Two.
And if her viral catchphrase is anything to go by, South Africa hasn’ t seen the full story yet. As she likes to say, this is only the beginning.

LUZANNE’ S WINTER BLAZER ADVICE
Inspired by style icons such as Victoria Beckham, Luzanne believes women often underestimate the confidence and versatility a well-cut blazer can bring.
Her top advice for winter is to start with a classic black blazer. It’ s a wardrobe staple that pairs effortlessly with almost any colour or outfit and can remain stylish for years.
But don’ t stop at black. Luzanne encourages women to embrace colour during the colder months, adding brighter tones to lift winter wardrobes. Her must-have blazer colours are black, off-white, and a bold red statement piece.
Oversized blazers are also having a major moment, offering comfort, confidence, and style for women of all shapes and sizes. Whether double-breasted, tailored, or relaxed-fit, Luzanne says the key is choosing pieces that make you feel empowered.
And for those wanting to stand out? A touch of sparkle, embellishment, or unique detailing can transform a blazer from ordinary to unforgettable.
