LUXURY LIVING

Perched upon a gentle north-eastern slope within the prestigious Mooikloof Equestrian Estate in Pretoria, this home emerges as a quiet symphony of architecture and nature.

Set upon one hectare of indigenous woodland, this family residence was conceived not to conquer the landscape, but to converse with it.
The brief called for a home that marries expansive living with intimate refuge. Open-plan interiors flow seamlessly to outdoor terraces and serene en-suite accommodations for family and guests. Every design decision was guided by a reverence for the existing trees and the views beyond.
Rather than a single monolithic form, the house unfolds as a series of fragmented pavilions, carefully threaded between protected trees. The main living areas, office, and bedrooms reside on the ground level, while the natural slope accommodates a lower floor for garages, a gym, guest quarters, and service spaces.
A central entrance foyer – anchored by natural stone feature walls – welcomes arrival and serves as a graceful pivot point between living zones and private wings. Beyond, the open-plan living space spills onto a vast covered patio, pool terrace, and lawn – the only portion of the land gently levelled to create outdoor living space, leaving the rest of the terrain untouched.
