MOVE
MOVE BECAUSE
02 YOU ENJOY IT
You don’ t have to become a gym rat overnight. Try activities that actually make you want to get moving.
Walk, cycle, swim, dance, hike, play football, hit the tennis court, or lift weights. The best workout is often the one you will actually do consistently.

03 START SMALL
You don’ t need to overhaul your entire life on Monday.
Start with 20 to 30 minutes of movement three times a week. Once that becomes routine, gradually increase the duration, intensity, or frequency.
STOP COMPARING
Social media is full of carefully selected angles, lighting, poses, and transformation photographs. Your body doesn’ t need to look like somebody else’ s to be healthy or worthy.
Compare yourself with your previous self, not someone else’ s highlight reel.
07 TRACK WHAT PICTURES CANNOT SHOW
The scale won’ t tell you everything.
Notice whether you have more energy, sleep better, feel stronger, recover faster, or can do something that used to leave you exhausted. Those are wins too.
05
TRAIN FOR REAL LIFE
Build a balanced routine that includes cardiovascular exercise, strength training, mobility, and rest.
Strength helps with everyday activities, while cardiovascular fitness supports your heart and endurance. Mobility keeps you moving comfortably, and recovery gives your body time to adapt.
08
06 EAT TO SUPPORT YOUR BODY
Fitness is not a punishment for eating. Focus on regular, balanced meals and enough food to support your activity.
Think nourishment rather than restriction
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO ENJOY SUMMER
You don’ t need to earn a beach day, braai, holiday, or swimming session by shrinking yourself first. Your body is not a before picture waiting for its“ after”.
It is the body that gets you through work, weekends, adventures, bad days, good days, and everything in between.
This October, train for the life you want to live, not just the body you think you’ re supposed to have. IB
